Evangelical Focus on Children
History
AEA began expressing serious concern for the plight of children in Africa in 1987 at the 4th General Assembly in Zambia. At its 6th General Assembly in Nigeria in 1993, AEA's Evangelical Focus on Children Commission-EFOC was established. At PACLA II in Nairobi, in 1994, 800 African Church leaders mandated EFOC to implement the resolutions of the African child made at the conference. The participants endorsed EFOC for the follow up of networking and collaboration with all children organizations in Africa as well as addressing the issues on children which were recommended at the consulation.

Mission
The body of Christ in Africa embraces children in all aspects of ministry with a view of freeing them from the lamentable situation in which they are now and enabling them to reach their God-given potentials.

The Purpose of EFOC Commission:
- To raise the profile of children in all Christian institutions.
- To protect the rights of children.
- To promote holistic children ministry in evangelism and social concern.
- To produce or facilitate the production of good Christian education materials for children.
- To educate the society on the proper place of children in the human community.
EFOC Programs. The Commissions activities consists of the following:
- Networking. The Commission identifies and networks with existing Christian and other ministries with relevant children and youth concern.
- Awareness. The Commission seeks to raise the profile of children through awareness seminars and effective communication devices.
- Evangelism. The Commission trains in child evangelism and equips child evangelists with the resources at its disposal.
- Development Education. The Commission promotes holistic children development (i.e, body, soul, and mind) in the context of Church and Society through workshops, education by extension and published materials.
- Human Rights. The Commission endeavors to protect and promote the rights of children.
