Youth and Sports Commission 2007 Circular [02-21-07]
During the AEA 9th General Assembly held in Entebbe, Uganda on 20th - 25th November 2006, the President of AEA Rev. Ndaba Mazabane reminded the Assembly that Africa is facing a great task in dealing with some giant issues such as poverty, HIV/AIDS, leadership.
In such a response to that challenge, YOuth and Sports Commission is committed to addressing the issues of Leadership and practically reaching the Youth through the church, equiping and mobilizing them to take their position in leadership early.
We appeal to all churches in their denominations and Evangelical Alliance to establish and promote Youth Fellowships and Alliances giving the young people opportunities to serve as leaders in their levels. This will give them the much needed exposure and experience in leadership. With guidance and effective training they will gain skills which will place them in positions of readiness to receive the leadership baton not only in church but also in the economic and civic arena.
The AEA Youth and Sports Commission exists to facilitate the church through the National Evangelical Alliances and strategic partners to reach, equip and mobilize the young people to evangelize and disciple their communities in Africa for the glory of Jesus Christ.
This is 2007 circular No.1 from the Youth and Sports Commission Desk
